Why Trufilter

Our filter contains a medical grade, laser cut stainless steel filter element. This type of filter element has many advantages and can provide unrivaled protection against oil contamination and the resulting engine damage it can cause.

Our filters are far superior to any paper filters you may purchase. Our filters come with either a 30 micron or 10 micron filtration element. Since the filter media is a stiff, 2-dimensional structure, no particles larger than the rating can pass through the filter media. The particulate rating for a paper filter is a "nominal" measurement and is usually the average minimum particle size passed by the filter. However, these ratings are often skewed to the filter manufacturers benefit. What this means is that even a paper or fiber filter with a rating of 10 microns may be passing particles in the 30-50 micron range. So don't be fool by the specs that other filter manufacturers have developed to make their products look good. 

In addition, some paper filters are manufactured with paper end caps on the filter element. There have been reports of these end caps coming unglued and allowing oil to flow through without being filtered at all. There have also been reports of these paper end caps coming apart and filling the engine with large paper particles that have plugged up oil passages and resulted in engine damage and even catastrophic engine failures.

Everyone these days is concerned about our environment and rightly so. Like all our precious possessions, we must protect our planet  if we expect it to last. Trufilter understands how fragile our planet is and took this into consideration when we went looking for a superior filter technology for our racing team. One of the things we considered was how green was the product. Trufilter filters can have a zero or even a negative carbon foot print depending on how long you use the product and how often you change your oil. In addition our filters reduce the waste going into land fills as there is no filter element to dispose.

Replacement part are available if you happen to step on your filter element or pinch and o-ring. Our products use a thread insert to allow one filter to fit many vehicles. If you change vehicles and your current filter only needs a thread insert to be used on the new vehicle we will provide the insert free of charge so you can continue using your Trufilter product on your new vehicle.
